Another Fairhope Police Officer Resigns

FACING TERMINATION                                                              

According to a source at city hall Jeremy Anderson, the last of the six police personnel who had been facing termination since last summer, has resigned. Anderson had been on administrative leave. (Officer Anderson had a disciplinary appeal hearing scheduled for Tuesday morning.)

At Monday's council meeting the city council approved the hiring of 2 new officers, one to replace Anderson.

I don't know what the full story is behind all of this, but I do know that there is a lot of crooked cops up there right now. Have been around long enough to know Gilheart and Anderson, don't think they are the ones. Friend is stopped, car searched, money seized and not written up on the arrest report. Money never returned. Their word against yours. Go figure. Do we have a police department or a gestapo?

Is strange how the police chief and the assistant chief don't have to follow rules....the lawyer asks for certain documents that had never been presented and they don't have to answer to that???? Explain this to the people of Fairhope. Fairhope people need to make sure the Council we have in place GOES OUT ALL TOGETHER and elect people that are actually from Fairhope and not someone that has moved in and wants to "change or take over".

typical..."elect people that are actually from Fairhope"

it is this type of us v. them mentality that divides the people of this city for no reason. Fairhope wouldn't be what it is today without the thousands who have moved here, opened business here, payed taxes here, and made this a damn fine city.

take your old Fairhope attitude and stuff it in a sack.

everybody's an expert but hardly anyone bothers to attend council meetings to find out the truth for themselves. i think our city council is doing a great job. they are thankless jobs for no pay.

I have attended council meetings as well as met with several of the council members one on one and engaged them in discussions via e-mail.

They are clueless, lack integrity and need to be voted out of office - every, single one of them.

What happened to the 2 jailors, while on duty,that were suppose to be watching the daily ends and outs of keeping the jail clean, meals delivered, safe, etc,that were CAUGHT having sex and ONLY received 2 weeks suspension and their hand slapped???? Did any of this get published???? Let's be fair.
