Fairhope Police Officer of the Year Named

SGT. STEPHANIE HOLLINGHEAD

Police Chief Press announced that Detective Stephanie Hollinghead had been named Officer of the Year (for 2011) and had recently been promoted to Sergeant.

Press: "She does so much for the department ... investigations, polygraphs. the task force on sexual abuse of children ... ."

Hollinghead is only the second female in Fairhope's history to become a Sergeant: the first being Councilmember Quinn's mother, Jean White,  in the early 1980s.

I have had the opportunity to deal with Det. Hollinghead in a matter and I must say she was very nice and most helpful. Congratulations.

Stephanie is a good Cop, and I am proud to have hired her.

Tonya Cook was the second female officer in Fairhope's history, if my memory serves correct.

Maybe everyone should look at who the actual "bad" ones are, Press was brought here to help resolve issues within the force. However, he has done nothing but create more animosity & each police officer fears they may be the next target. He'll continue to target officers from this area, & we will no longer have law enforcement "locals" that actually care about our local community.

I credit Officer Tonya Cook for saving my life. She helped me get out of a domestic violence relationship. Officer Cook went over and beyond her "job" checked on my well being daily, helped me find the proper resources I needed for my child & I to be able to remove ourselves from this situation. I will forever be grateful for her. This woman is truly a Angel on earth!
