City Gets Plaque From National Guard Group

Fairhope, Alabama

THANKS FOR TROOP SUPPORT

Joe Birendeli of the Citizens for Local Troop Support committee presented a plaque to the Mayor and Council from the 1165th National Guard Unit for the city's support of deployed troops and their families over the past 8 years.

Birendeli: " ... the national guard appreciates what we've done ... they presented it to us (committee) ... (but) on behalf of the committee ... I want to present it to the city."

Birendeli read the inscription: "In appreciation of your dedication and support of the men and women of the army national guard who served to defend freedom."
