Townhome Development Coming to Gayfer Ave

Fairhope, Alabama

CALLED FAIRHOPE COMMONS

The Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved the 62 unit single-story townhome development proposed by Trey Jinright of Jade Consulting Inc. for a 10 acre site on the south side of Gayfer Rd. roughly southeast  from the Arbor Gates apartments.

The plan will only use 7 acres of the site and the existing natural storm water retention pond ("Grady" pond) will be supplemented by 10 bio-retention ponds around the site's perimeter to catch runoff. Jinright said the ponds should actually reduce runoff from the site from current levels.

The entrance will be on Gayfer, but the county must issue a "turnout permit" for it -- since some of the project is not within city limits.

Upon request of neighbors, it was decided to install a hedge between the development and the Rosa Acres subdivision, rather than a wooden fence as originally proposed.

A sidewalk is to be constructed along the south side of Gayfer as well.

Will be great to have that sidewalk connect to the nice sidewalk along Hwy 98. Keep these people connected.

Hate the 4 way stop at co rd 13. I guess it's just too much to ask for there to be just one road that connects 181 and 98 that doesn't have a stop sign or red light.
