Fairhope, Alabama
FAIRHOPE AVE. AT GREENO RD.
According to the Mayor and Councilmember Quinn, plans are in the works to add more turn lanes on Fairhope Ave. at the chronically-congested Greeno Rd. intersection.
If approved, the $200,000 cost of the project is to be shared by the city and state, 50/50 -- possibly by using impact fees for the city's funding.
Quinn: "That intersection gets backed up ... sometimes you have to wait 3 lights (cycles) to get through it."
(Previously, Mayor Kant said synchronizing the traffic signals on Greeno Rd. -- which the state is in the process of doing now -- could add to the wait times on cross streets.)
The matter will be taken up at the next finance committee meeting.
