Minimal Storm Damage Reported So Far

Fairhope, Alabama

 FIVE INCHES OF RAIN RECORDED

According to a spokesman for the city, damage by hurricane Isaac has been minimal so far - except for  a few trees down and some isolated power outages. The Pier St. boat ramp is closed and no sewage spills/overflows have occurred.

The Times observed some minor flooding in the duck pond and pier areas this afternoon, as well as a tree that had fallen over S. Scenic 98. The road down to the Grand Hotel was officially closed at one point (due to the usual flooding in the hotel's marina area), but the Times reporter found it was still passable: one-lane only.
