Political Yard Signs Being Stolen

Fairhope, Alabama

Several candidates in the upcoming election are reporting having their campaign yard signs stolen. One citizen who attended the last Police Advisory Committee meeting reported her Debbie Quinn for council yard sign stolen -- and wondered if Quinn's opponent was responsible in some way.

Citizen: "If her opponent is really sending out people to do this kind of stuff ... do we really want to elect him? Why would you want to do that?"

Chief Press said that if there is evidence someone took a sign the police would consider it like any other theft case and prosecute "no matter who the candidate is or who's sign it is."

According to some of the candidates, the yard signs can cost from about 3-8 dollars each depending on design and the number of signs ordered.
