Playground Repairs Underway

Fairhope, Alabama

After being inspected by a certified playground inspector for safety last August, the city's public works department has begun making repairs to the community park playground on Church St.





INSPECTION REPORT SUMMARY

Discrepancies the 127 page report mentioned include  head and neck "entrapments",  handrails not up to standards, visibility problems, et al.

Recommendations:

"Some of the issues are simple repairs, some costly repairs."

"Head and neck entrapments are a high priority and require design changes which should only be done by a playground manufacturer."

"Americans with Disabilities Act issues can only be corrected by a new design."

My brother sells playground equipment up north. Even though the wooden structures might look unique, he says they do not hold up very well.
