Police Officier of the Month Named

Fairhope, Alabama

At the last Police Advisory Committee meeting, Interim Police Chief Joseph Petties named Sgt. John Hamrick Officer of the month for September. Hamrick was chosen for initiating and training K-9 officers for every shift and establishing the new Coffee with a Cop program.

Hamrick also helped establish the department's new Chaplain program.

Petties called Hamrick a very special fellow:  "...  it chokes me up a little bit ... he's my right hand man ... I really think a lot of John ... ."

Hardick said he appreciated the award: "... its a nice surprise ... we are excited about what's going on ... change does happen ... Chief Petties has us moving in the right direction ... ."

(Publisher's Note: Officer Damien Rehorn was named OOM for August. His presentation may be viewed on our Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/fairhope.times)
