City Tractor Gets Stuck In Bay

Fairhope, Alabama

TRYING TO REMOVE DEAD TREE

A city front end loader became mired in the bay this morning while attempting to pull a dead tree from the water.

City Electric Department crews were unsuccessful when they attempted to free it from the muck using a winch.

At last word, a private contractor -- with appropriate equipment -- was to be hired to remove the stuck tractor instead.

Glad no one got hit when that cable broke! If they had started with the winch for the tree they would have had a much easier day.
