Art Center Trees To Be Removed

Fairhope, Alabama

WITH STIPULATIONS

City Horticulturist Jennifer Fidler has given permission for the Eastern Shore Art Center to remove two large pine trees that are threatening their building and parking lot. The Art Center had hired two arborists of their own to examine the trees; and their opinions were sent to Fidler for her consideration.

Fidler is requiring that for each tree removed, 3 new trees be planted as replacements.

Large trees such as these in the downtown commercial district are protected by the city's Tree Protection Ordinance and require the Horticulturist's permission before trimming or pruning (subject to fines). Trees on residential property are not covered by the ordinance.

The trees at the far left and far right in the picture are to be removed.
