Greeno Traffic Lights Now Synchronized

Fairhope, Alabama

FROM HWY 104 TO TWIN BEECH RD.

Electric superintendent Scott Sligh says the Alabama Dept. of Transportation has completed the synchronization of the traffic signals on Greeno Rd.--  to permit better traffic flow through town. They are timed to allow traffic to move freely from one end to the other with a minimum of stops, but the wait-times for crossing traffic on side streets have increased.

Sligh added that the city may have the option of purchasing a central control device that could allow each of the signals to talk to one another -- to facilitate even better traffic flow there, if it choses to do so.

The city council passed a resolution last summer requesting ALDOT synchronize the signals.

Don't blink yours eyes while going east/west, the lights change too quick.

You've heard of the old saying "you can't please all of the people all of the time." In Fairhope, it's "you can't please any of the people any of the time"

Glad to hear it. Also very happy to see they have added a sensor to the light on 98 at 64 because that light was taking way to long to cycle. I hope they will add a similar sensor at the intersection of 98 and Whispering Pines (near Riviera Utilities.

Too many traffic lights is a bad idea> How 'bout some traffic circles instead?

Traffic circles on US HWY 98??? What a great idea! Let's put them on STATE HWY 181 in Malbis too since this is such a brilliant idea...
