City's Bid For More Public Works Space Accepted

Fairhope, Alabama

The owners of a vacant warehouse on Pecan St. (National Loan Aquisition Company of Oswego, Oregon) have accepted an offer from the city to purchase the property to be used by the Public Works Department to house vehicles and equipment -- and for future expansion needs.

Since the previous owners were in bankruptcy, it will take about 30 days for title and other legal matters to be ironed out, then the city council will vote whether or not to go through with the purchase.

The owners were asking $525,000, but it has not yet been announced how much the city bid for it.
