Newly-elected Place 5 City Councilman Kevin Boone returned to his seat at monday's meeting after suffering a stroke during knee replacement surgery about 4 weeks ago. Boone told the Times the stroke was probably caused by a pre-existing heart condition.
Councilman Burrell wished a speedy recovery and noted Boone's substantial weight loss: "(I) ... wouldn't want to go through that ... just to lose weight ... ."
Boone: "Just how big was I ... ?"
