Horror Movie Auditions Held

Fairhope, Alabama

A casting audition was held on the USA's downtown campus for extras to appear in the horror movie Somnia -- set to begin filming next month (Nov.) in the Fairhope area.

(Retired TV weatherman John Ed Thompson was among those in the line.)

The movie, starring Katee Sackoff of Battlestar Gallactica and Longmire TV series fame,  is described in promos as a "haunting, emotionally absorbing horror film about an orphaned child whose dreams, and nightmares, manifest physically as he sleeps."

Somnia is being co-written and directed by Mike Flanagan, and Fairhope native Scott Lumpkin is co-producer (Lumpkin and Associates). The city's Pecan St. warehouse and the K-1 school on Church St. are being leased for filming.

Two other (unidentified) productions will also filming around town during November, according to informed sources.
