Festive First Art Walk of Spring

DANCING IN STREETS

After the cold winter, good weather brought large and enthusiastic crowds to downtown streets this evening for the monthly Art Walk.

Young and old could be seen dancing to the sounds of the Modern Eldorados, Sugarcane Jane, Dr. Jazz Normand, Kyle and Karl -- among other artists.

Fairhope resident and newspaper cartoonist J. D. Crowe was seen enjoying the snacks at the Eastern Shore Art Center.

"BEAUTY" PAGEANT TOO

The 2nd annual Mr. Jubilee pageant was being held at the Venue on Section St as well; and the bookish Paige Turner seemed to be popular with the mostly-female audience.

The contest is sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary of the Eastern Shore, a non-profit Christian group that raises money for needy children.
