Fairhope Education Committee Selects Consultant

Fairhope, Alabama

After hearing a presentation from the second applicant, Evergreen Solutions of Tallahasse Florida, the city's Education Advisory Committee tentatively decided to recommend Akribos Consulting of Spanish Fort to do a comprehensive study of options facing Fairhope-area schools.

In her presentation the president of Evergreen emphasized her company's broad experience dealing with education systems throughout the southeast; but during a short meeting afterward committee members decided the superior local and state of Alabama knowledge of Akribos (led by former Baldwin School superintendent Faron Holinger) trumped that.

The EAC will make its formal recommendation to the city council at its next meeting on December 28th.

('Akribos' is a Greek word roughly meaning accurate.)
