FREE SEMINARS PLANNED
Next Wednesday Harvard-trained Katy Moss Warner, professor emeritus of the American Horticulture Society (clk), will be visiting the city and giving seminars about the benefits of gardening at the civic center:
"Making America a nation of gardeners, a land of gardens" is the society's motto.
Moss is also president of the America in Bloom non-profit organization (clk): the city won several awards last Summer at its annual meeting (clk).
The first seminar at 10 AM will bean informational session for the general public and the second mostly for interested government officials.

in Fairhope, Katy will host a workshop at 10 a.m. for the general
public, local garden clubs and master gardeners and then a second
workshop at 4 p.m. for local elected officials and city staff. The
agenda for the meetings are below.

Getting Involved – Planting Pride in Your Community
This session will be open to the general public, local garden clubs and master gardeners
and will last approximately 2 hours. Katy will
cover the AIB program and how to involve the community in the process.
She will also engage the audience in discussions on landscape, heritage
preservation, floral displays, urban forestry and environmental efforts.

America in Bloom – What it Can Mean for Your Community
This session is open to city staff and local elected officials. Katy
will introduce the AIB framework and introduce other communities to AIB
and the positive benefits it could have for your community.
