New Fairhope Roundabout Closing For More Work

Fairhope, Alabama

ONLY TEMPORARY

According to the Fairhope Police Department, the popular new roundabout will be closed tomorrow morning for application of the final road striping paint:

"CR 48-CR13 Roundabout closed tomorrow 9a.m.-2:30p.m. for final striping of roadway"

It takes several weeks for new asphalt to cure sufficiently for the paint to stick well.

Use the same detours as before:

Popular? I've gone through it one time. Try to avoid as much as possible. Some people never learned what "yield" means. Value my life more.

Given that Fairhopians cannot navigate a two way stop I don't have much hope for a roundabout.
I just came in from Daphne where there is a roundabout at CR 13 and 104. Traffic backed up in all directions.

I'd be embarassed to admit I avoided a roundabout.

Well, I'm not embarrassed at all. It's the crazies that zoom through them with no regard to the yield signs that worry me. Have had to literally slam on the brakes to keep one of these imbeciles from hitting me.

13 and 64. Seems you can't navigate.

Roundabout at 13 and 104.....? What is that person who commented above talking about???

This roundabout at Fairhope Ave and 13 is a great addition. Anyone saying they avoid it because they value their life doesn't understand how these work or how much more dangerous the alternatives are... I'm just sick of people complaining about things they don't understand.

Yep, if you can't handle a simple roudabout, stay off of them. I hope to see more around here.

Fairhope cannot handle a roudabout. I seriously doubt anybody in Fairhope can pass a driver's education course because they are all so old and blind. Why do you crazy people keep pulling right out in front of me?

ALL THE PEOPLE THAT VOTE FOR THESE ROUND ABOUTS TO WAIST OUR TAX DOLLARS SHOULD HAVE TO DRIVE A SEMI AROUND THEM OVER AND OVER AND PULL A LONG TRAILER AROUND THEM AS WELL. ANYTHING THAT CAN HINDER A WORKING MAN THAT PRODUCES FOR SOCIETY WHILE THE CONSEL SITS AROUND AND THINKS OF MORE DUMB THINGS TO WAISTE MONIES OF THE WORKING CLASS....

sounds like they may force the speeding bigs rigs to slow down a little. another plus.

The Fairhope council did not vote for this, Baldwin county commission and department of transportation. As usual blame the Fairhope Mayor and Council, that's how Karen got elected. More lies and people believe them.

Personally, I love this roundabout and the others. I live less than half a mile away and go through it every day to and from work. Have had not one single issue or complaint about it. So much faster than the alternatives.

Have there been any wrecks there without the striping? Seems like they would have waited to open it up?

Can't wait for some red neck 4 wheeler to plow straight thru that damn lib'ral roun'about!
