New Four Way Stop On Twin Beech Road

Fairhope, Alabama

AT CR13

After receiving a request from Mayor Kant and Police Chief Petties, the county has installed stop signs on Twin Beach Road at CR 13 (Oberg Rd.),

Some neighborhood citizens had suggested a roundabout there, but traffic volume does not yet warrant it.

Mayor Kant told the Times a four-way may be necessary at the Gayfer/Bishop Road intersection as well, to cope with the ever-increasing east side traffic.

Stop with the roundabouts!

Since when did Fairhope become too big for stop signs?

As one who uses Gayfer and Bishop three times a day, a four way stop is needed. Since the one has been installed at Bishop and Morphy accidents have decreased greatly.

Don't totally disagree with u. I do think one would do well at N Section/Veterans/Main/104 intersection. That thing is a disaster. Also, any update on the Delemar one way? I also think Oak St between Section and Church should be West bound only. Thought?

I thought they already had a 4-way at Gayfer & 13. Much better sense then another round-about. The congestion needs to be taken off of 13 and Twin Beach.

Since I live on Oak, I would object to any portion of it being made one-way. It would make getting out of the neighborhood (especially to go to Mobile) much more circuitous.

No, no, no on the Oak Street and Section. I have lived in the "hood" all my life. Plain and simple - put up a traffic light. The trees in the median don't help any either. Pure and simple - put up a traffic light. Speed limit suppose to be 25 there, but more like 35-45. People think the 25 is only during school hours, but it's not.

Having to travel one block over is terrifying. Would be faster and much safer than inching the nose of your car out and blindly pulling out in front of ppl. I forgot you bluff ppl can't handle change so never mind

West only on Oak not a good idea. Delegation good idea certainly if you make the truck unloading area.

Rude, Yes we know who you voted for.

Delemar, spell check

Traffic control devices and slow speed limits creat unmanageable congestion. Keep doing this and Fairhope will turn into a creeping parking lot.
