On thursday, at 2 PM for the first time I met an absolutely rude and abnoxious police officer that was garding Section and Fairhope He spoke like he was the emperor of Fairhope when I asked him if it was safe to park in front of the library. Souther hospitality[or even hospitality] does not apply to our officers, I guess, ugly

All Police are trained to be rude and obnoxious.

The officer probably thought it was the best way to avoid someone who complains...a lot!

I don't understand why fairhope police are constantly sitting at the intersections of twin beech road/hwy 181, hwy 32/hwy 181, and hwy 32/teresa dr. We need our police downtown actually serving the community. Our police need to be assisting the public with parking, directions, and maintaining order downtown. Downtown is a mess. We don't need our police 10-15 miles away in the county, outside the city.

The police are not 10=15 miles away, the police jurisdiction only extends 6 miles. Perhaps these officers are watching for drunk drivers driving up from the beach and catching them before they enter the city limits. I am not sure the police are best serving the public by giving parking directions, after all, they are trained to keep the peace, not babysit.

AND, right now the morale of the police department is not the best!!!
ok, why all the police bashing really! I love when one person has a perceived bad encounter with 1 officer, all of a sudden "all" is now the norm., unfriggin believeable

Thank you everyone that participated in this annual Fairhope tradition. Thank you to the service men and women and to all that worked hard to set up and clean up and to maintain order. Thank you to those that work to support, organize and make it happen every year. Thank you to all of our out of town visitors that travel to Fairhope each year to participate and celebrate. It rained, but we cannot control weather. I love and cherish this 66 year old tradition. Fairhope, Alabama is an artist’s and craftsman’s paradise. I enjoyed every minute of the fair..beautiful Springtime...renewal...a lovely segway if you will...transition from winter to Summer. I have many years of memories with my great grandparents, grandparents, my parents and my son...in regards to The Arts and Crafts celebrations....and I look forward to next year’s and many more thereafter.
