Glad it is over. There has to be a better way to celebrate than fireworks. It is pure torture for the animals and pets. Not to mention the incredible amount of money wasted.

Guess you the same one that complains that the high school football game is to loud. This is no different then a summer thunder and lightning storm we have been getting every day.

A lot louder “than” a thunderstorm. Not sure of what thunderstorm you hear. If you ever owned or cared for animals you would not like it either. The people shooting in the streets are doing so illegally. It always amazes me no one does anything about it

More important to arrest children from popping fire crackers. Please!!! Thank you Fairhope Police for catching the the thief's, rapist, and drug dealers.

Stop being so dramatic, fire works twice a year.

It's not only pets that are bothered. If you lived with a special needs child, you would see a lot of the same reactions. Took me over 2 hours to settle mine down after the fireworks and we weren't even there.

Well the amount of sulfuric air and smoke inundated the downtown area due to a light western wind yet a NO BURN MANDATE for ozone is in effect.Couldn't even sit out side and watch due to the acrid smoke.

Your comment about the police catching thieves made no sense. I tried to interpret it. Laws are laws and by the way, it is NEVER CHILDREN with the fireworks. It is usually drunk adults. They also never clean the streets when they are done. That is called littering. Everyone on here has valid lawful arguments except you. I did not even think about a special needs child. Im so sorry that you had to deal with inconsiderate people. To the person that says I’m being dramatic, if you had any sense you would see why it bothers some. It is very dramatic to try to calm down animals just so you can hear popping. I agree with the person and the no burnmandate as well. Dangerous and waste of money.

Definitely agree with you on the waste of money. They could give it to the city employees as a bonus.
