A study by urban planning and safety organizations found that streets in Alabama were still the second most dangerous for pedestrians in the nation: Florida was worse.

When developing, cities need to think about sidewalks. The more sidewalks, the safer people will be.

Since the people in Alabama do not know the rules of the road when it comes to pedestrians (cross walks, etc) or any other rules, this is not surprising.
