There aren't half that many liberals in all of Fairhope!

Why not just defund the police department then and let the sherrif take over? That would save us a lot of money we could use for more recreation and mental heath.

With a majority of Police Dept. cut to bare bones budget. Most cars are 1 officer. So when a person decides to fight that officer. Which is almost all of these cases. That officer has to resort to force instead of a takedown fight. And guess what bad things happen. Based on the suspect choice not the officer. If you dont like the treatment ,dont fight the officer. With that said if you do not want police move out into the country. And if you take away police the real killers which you see every night on news in Mobile will increase several 100%.

I have never encountered a rude police officer here or anyplace else. While there are 'bad apples' in every profession, these protesters are trying to paint them all as rotten and that's just 180 degrees from truth.

You sure you want to let trigger happy Boss Hoss take over from Fairhope PD?

Police officers are taught to be obnoxious to everyone.
Especially during traffic stops.

"Police officers are taught to be obnoxious to everyone.

This statement is ignorant, divisive, destructive, and readily falsifiable. If you had been through the academy and field training--as I have--you would know better. Bad cops are not a product of their training, but rather a product of their character, and they are allowed to stay on the job (much like bad teachers) by the machinations of the pernicious public sector unions that protect the worst at the expense of the the rest of us.

I’ll say one thing, if you are a policeman you will be a lot happier in Fairhope than Mobile. Montgomery, or Birmingham. Same goes for firemen....

As a fairly new resident of Fairhope, I find the police and Fairhope Police department to be very professional and courteous whenever I stopped ask questions or to talk to them. Of course if you are on the other side of the law and belligerent then I would expect them not be so nice.

It has always been "who you know" or related to and not qualifications that gets you a job with the fairhope police.

Really? Share your proofs and your name if you wish to publicly traduce so many of our fellow citizens.

Of course, you cannot produce the former; so, you surely will not produce the latter.

Why no parade permit required?

They ought to start doing community policing again. Get out of their big black SUVS and meet the people.
