K-1 Roof Repairs Finally Ok'd

Fairhope, Alabama

PURCHASED JULY 2019

The city council authorized $36,600 to Roof Doctors to "fix all leaks (patch) ... and to stop water from entering the building."

Roof repair was the #1 recommendation of a building assessment completed by Thompson Engineerng November of 2019; the city purchased the property in July 2019 for $4 million.

The consultant had recommended replacing the entire roof, but the council decided on the less costly, interim option until the future of the building is determined.

YELP reviews are not great and several complaints through the BBB.
A simple google search.

I heard that the building was full of mold and would have to be torn down, regardless. Why are we throwing good money after bad? Why not raze it now and then sell the property to a hotel developer?

An independent engineer's inspection late last year found it in relatively good shape.

There are no "independent engineer$" when it comes to Fairhope building project$.
I was in that building over 10 years ago and it smelled like mold and rot. I find it hard to believe without intervention the building has improved over time.

YELP reviews? Worthless, unverifiable axe-grinding.

I cannot speak for their commercial work, but Roof Doctors roofed my new construction home build in July, and they were as good as promised by my general contractor.

So, unless one has firsthand knowledge, it's best to not disparage businesses or people on this blog.

Anonymous character assassination is becoming the coin of the realm here, and it diminishes our community.
