Mini Cell Towers Coming To Fairhope Avenue?

CELLULAR PHONE SERVICE AFFECTED BE HURRICANE

AT&T is proposing installing two mini cell phone towers (like the one pictured above at the pier) along Fairhope Avenue in the vicinity of the courthouse and near Walmart to improve service in the area after equipment in the area was severely damaged by hurricane Sally (their main antenna atop the water tank was destroyed).

Several thousand feet of overhead/underground copper wire/cable is to be replaced with fiber optic as well.

What you’re seeing is the beginning of what will be 100’s of 5g antennas in cities throughout the US. The very top is 4g as it will be years before that’s switched off. The bulge below the top is the 5g part. AT&T is not spending many dollars on maintaining 4g but would love to get this approved so they can use capital dollars and not spend anything on repairing what was damaged.
