Restaurant Deck Encroaching On Art Alley Project?

Fairhope, Alabama

Proposed bus station.

ON PUBLIC PROPERTY

The Times has learned some of a wooden deck installed by a previous owner of a familiar restaurant at 14 N.  Church Street maybe interfering with the proposed Art Alley project about to get underway. A BRATS bus station is to be built in that general area.

The city's Parking Authority is the owner of most of the area under the big live oak tree; it has offered to lease the property to the current restaurant owner, if a deck is still wanted there. Sufficient liability insurance will be required as well. Clover LLC is owner according to county records.

The Parking Authority is an autonomous board established under state law whose members are appointed by the city council. Current members are: Chad Bartz, Mandy Bezeredi, Morgan Slay, Beth Fugard, Randy Williams, and Ginger Milligan.

The Authority also owns the adjacent parking garage (same parcel).
