LITTLE POINT CLEAR VENUE

After a 3 hour special meeting Tuesday night in Fairhope, the Baldwin County Planning Commission unanimously passed a resolution to give Patricia Neimeyer, owner of the popular Little Point Clear venue at 18363 Scenic 98, until May 5th to resolve seven zoning violations ... or face possible revocation of conditional use permits for the business' operation granted about five years ago.

Its website describes the place as a "distinctively southern reception space" featuring overnight guest suites suitable for weddings, family reunions, parties, vacations, et al.  The property is located in county planning district 26.

Zoning violations cited by planning director Matthew Brown include parking-related technical requirements (number/design of spaces), insufficient setbacks for wooden decks, lack of permitting for canopies/awnings (tents), and over-crowding.

The planning commission decided to evaluate progress made on resolving the seven issues during its May 5th meeting and then take further appropriate action, if necessary.

Although some of the violations were contested by owners and their attorney, they indicated a willingness to work with planning director Matthew Brown and staff to resolve the issues before then.

Complaints from a neighbor about three months ago triggered an investigation by the planning department's compliance officer. He had threatened legal action against the county for lack of enforcement of the zoning ordinance, according to a source on the commission.

A large number of Pt. Clear residents turned out to support Neimeyer and her "beneficial" neighborhood business.

Isn't she the same one that had issues with her Fly Creek venue? Seems like it had to do with noise.
