Storm Damages Airport Fuel Canopy Again

Fairhope, Alabama

March 2022

Airport fuel canopy damaged again.

SONNY CALLAHAN AIRPORT

High wind from a recent storm destroyed the canopy over the aviation fueling station at the Fairhope airport.

The canopy was destroyed by hurricane Sally in 2020 as well; a new design installed then was supposed to withstand higher wind speeds.

Replacement cost should be covered by insurance, after deductibles according to airport sources.

Such fueling stations are required to be covered.
