PARKING AUTHORITY MEETS
According to the April meeting minutes of the city's Parking Authority, city property under a large live oak tree where a deck was constructed by a previous business owner many years ago has been leased to the current 'Little Whiskey' restaurant owner at 14 North Church Street, Clover, Llc.
The lease will be $2K per year for 10 years; it was executed on April 11th.
"... A previous tenant of the building on the property built a deck that encroached on City space. The Parking Authority previously moved to execute a lease with Clover, LLC, for the portion of the deck that is on city property and to authorize ... to negotiate that lease execution.
Among the terms included were that if the business name or ownership changes, the deck must be removed from City property. The lease was for 10 years at a sum of $2,000/year. All terms were agreed upon and the lease was executed on April 11, 2022"
WON'T INTERFERE WITH NEW RESTROOMS
Even though it is on city property, the deck will not interfere with construction of new public restrooms nearby as part of the upcoming 'Art Alley' Transit Hub project, according to project engineer Richard Johnson.
A contractor was selected for the project earlier this year, but it had to be re-bid due to a technical error in the bidding process.
