ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS TOO
Mayor Sullivan cut the ribbon and council president Conyers flipped the "on" switch for the new 50 kilowatt solar canopy in the parking lot at city hall.
The demonstration project was funded/installed by the city's electricity cooperative supplier, the AMEA; its president Fred Clark was on hand as well.
Clark said the canopy would provided enough power to supply two homes, when the sun was shinning.
The six electric vehicle charging stations are manged by the private Charge Point system (click). Cost is $1.25/hr to charge and $1/hr to park.
Parking spaces are reserved for EV's only, according to the mayor.
