New Office Building Coming To Downtown

Fairhope, Alabama

Update: The Planning Commission subsequently approved this site plan with height limited to 40' and a lower fence in front.

314 Magnolia Avenue

'MAGNOLIA OFFICE BUILDING'

A 3-story, 24K square foot office building is being proposed for the half-acre property at 314 Magnolia Avenue just west of Section Street where two old houses were demolished recently.

10 onsite parking spaces are included in the proposed site plan, although technically none are required in the central business district.

Magnolia Avenue, LLC is the owner (Rodney Pilot; leased from Single Tax Corporation); SE Civil is the engineer.

Site plans will have to be approved by the planning commission and city council at upcoming meetings.

New plan.

Old houses demolished.

No worse than the boxy Hampton Inn next door. In fact it looks better.

Sad days for our town! Progress is good but this building is modern and not in character with our town’s architecture.

The top of the building looks like it would be a perfect sail in a hurricane, as in it would go sailing.

Fantastic design and creating a significant amount of new office space in downtown is a great thing for downtown merchants. It’s good to see someone make this substantial investment in Fairhope. Kudos.

From the artist's renderings, it looks amazing! It will be an asset to that area. I hope that the developer does not run into approval issues.

The building IS out of character for Fairhope. We are fixing to lose our uniqueness....
