 CLOCK CORNER COURTYARD

After being repaired last summer, the south side of the famous downtown clock has stopped at about 2:15; it is not know yet if the problem is related to the cold weather.

The other side has not worked for well over a year; still awaiting parts.

Each side is driven by a separate electric motor and controlling devices.

A company from Georgia was the only one to be found that could repair the clock, which was installed in the early 1990s.

It’s a clock from 1990’s not 1890’s. Maybe single tax can pay, another ridiculous way for them to spend our money. How much has this clock cost the city?

At least it is right twice a day!

It shouldn't take 2 years to fix a stupid clock. Some thing is not right.

I do hope people realize a battery operated movement cost less than 50 to 150 dollars each( oh hell make it solar for an extra few bucks).Include gongs or programed sound by 1/4 ,1/2 3/4,and 1 hours.Even if it only last a year the cost of the clock would fund a replacement for about 20 years. But am sure the research and consulting fees would FAR exceed the cost of just going on line and ordering a few movements.
