New Starbucks Plan Up For Approval

Fairhope, Alabama

Update: The city council subsequently approved the plan.

New Fairhope Starbucks design.

100 GREENO ROAD

A modified plan for the city's first Starbucks coffee shop in the Eastern Shore Shopping Center  shopping center on Greeno Road is up for final approval during Monday's city council meeting.

The new design differs slightly from an earlier one because the company decided to discontinue dual drive-thru "stacking" lane's ... and more landscaping was added.

The store is to be located in the parking lot in front of the current 'Big Lots' store; Robert Graham Llc. is owner.

Old plan revised.

Greeno Road Is already more dangerous than Airport Blvd . Why add to add to the problem with another coffee shop .

It will be in the shopping center. Has little to no effect on traffic.

I prefer to drink my coffee black, nothing added--not cream; not sugar; not self-righteous woke politics.

Wonderful local folks are already serving fine brews, and in several unpretentious sizes such as large or 12 oz. I often visit veteran-owned Reveille, Mr. Gene's Beans, Refuge, Page & Palette, Kind Cafe, Provision, and Flying Pig.

The Seattle scolds will be easy to ignore, and their building will make a handsome breakfast diner and gathering spot when redeveloped in a few years.

How do you get into the shopping center ?

I get coffee at gas stations. Reasonably priced.

Must be a heliport we missed when driving through.

I will continue to only support the local small business coffee shops like The Coffee Loft and Refuge. I bet a chick-fila will be next.

More hideous corporate architecture, if you can even call it architecture. Looks like a cardboard box. And both new Publix stores are ugly too.

"And both new Publix stores are ugly too"
In my 58 years on this earth I don't recall any grocery store looking different than any other. Aren't they all just square buildings with glass front doors???

I agree with the last poster......a Publix is a Publix.....part of their corporate identity. I love Publix and its amazing employees. I only wish they they get these new locations open asap so that some shoppers will clear out of 'my' store!

The person above that said it will have little to no effect on traffic obviously has not been paying attention to the Starbucks and Chik-fil-A in Daphne. The thing we all love about Fairhope is the small town appeal and supporting locally owned businesses. If you are supporting this then you are also consciously supporting the demise of Refugee and coffee loft. No one who truly loves this town will spend money at Starbucks.
