MARDI GRAS PARADE CAMPING

This could be the last time an "RV city" is allowed to camp in the city's parking lot behind the library; the spaces are needed for additional handicapped parking for parades according to the mayor and police chief.

Spaces are rented for $50/day.

Some other place in town may be available instead if electric service is found, according to the mayor.

There are many campgrounds that have the required facilities and the campers can use Uber/lyft to get into town for parades. This is a horrible waste of space that is desperately needed. It seems like at least 30% of attendees are in wheelchairs or walkers so we need more handicapped spaces (particularly when I see people daily that clearly use permits designated to others because they are as able as I am, yet they have these license plates/hanging tags. I would defer to the Chief of Police and let her set the policy. She does a stellar job! We are so lucky to have her!
