New parking area.


IN TIME FOR BASEBALL

Paving, striping, and other upgrades underway now to roads and parking lots at Volanta Park should be finished in time for the opening of baseball season in early March; installation of the 4 new youth baseball fields and rest rooms as well.

New parking will be installed south of the four new fields and west of the stadium.

The existing field at the south entrance off Volanta Avenue will be used as unpaved, grass parking.

I am presuming they will want parents to park from the west side of the park over to the new fields, as there does not appear to be any additional parking around the new fields.
Since people do not want to walk more than 100 feet here, how will they keep baseball folks out of the parking areas for the rec center? Sounds like a big hot mess.

We just updated this post to show the parking plan (at the bottom). There will be some new parking near the new fields.

What plans is the city making to improve the Fairhope Dog Park within the grounds of Volanta Park? It has become dangerous for both people and dogs.
