IN NEW PLANNING DISTRICT 37
The Baldwin County Board of Adjustments granted a variance request to allow a 5' sidewalk to be constructed through a wetlands buffer setback along Gayfer Road ... to allow expansion of the Gulf Storage facility at the intersection of Hwy 181 just outside city limits on the east side of town.
At first, county planning staff had recommended waiving the requirement of a sidewalk completely; but reconsidered after hearing from citizens and Fairhope's planning department to allow the sidewalk through the setback instead.
256 more mini-storage units are planned for the new 40,650 sq. ft. building.
Eventually, sidewalks are planned all the way down Gayfer Extension.
The Baldwin County Planning Commission had previously approved the site plan, pending the B of A's approval of necessary variance regarding the sidewalk.
The existing part of the facility was constructed in 2020 when the property was not zoned (it is B-2 now); owner is First Gulf Storage Group Llc.

THIS IS BEYOND CONCEPTION OF ACCEPTANCE as one siut has already been filed.
It is also interesting that Ecumenical Ministries,and the single tax corp(now nonprofit without vote of lessee's)have received building certificate of occupancy(more than once) after construction and STILL have NO ADA PARKING OR ANY REASONABLE Accommodations TO ENTER OR PAY YOUR TAXES if you just happen to be in a wheelchair,let alone has the abilty to park downtown and transverse through out the city.
Not unlike over 46 violation through out the city with signed off CO's.
Yet the city has a 8.5% tax in violation of single charter act of State with in the cross over of the Single Tax Corporation.
With in all of this filing will have to Federal as the Baldwin Co DA office and the entire structure of judicial has run unopposed for the last 3 terms.The same DA who refused to prosecute the last mayor as it wasn't or isn't important enough to defend city employees assaulted with in days of taking office.
