NEW 'PUBLIX' SHOPPING CENTER

A dog park has opened on the north side of  the 'Shops at Point Clear' shopping center on S. Greeno Road.

Developer R W Battles opted for the dog park to help satisfy the city's greenspace requirements for the project, according to city planning department director Hunter Simmons.

Even though on private property, the park is open to the general public for use, he said.

This is a sad excuse for a dog park… Doing the bare minimum to “satisfy green space requirements” doesn’t do much for the citizens

Considering dogs' tastes, if left to their own devices, I suggest that the minimum is more than enough. The canophilia in Fairhope has taken on a repellent cast, with too many owner's self-regard thinly veiled behind a performative love of innocent little creatures. Dogs are great, but so is perspective and proportion.

there is a city dog park by the football stadium but it gets very little city maintenance support. Huge erosion problems, e,g.
