RESURFACING/STRIPING

The city council awarded a contract to low-bidder Asphalt Services of Spanish Fort for $900,772 to resurface various streets in the city. Parking lots at city hall and the Pecan Street warehouse facility were also included.

Public Works director Johnson said the cost for asphalt was greater than in past years. City roads are rated according to need; White Avenue had numerous, recent street utility excavations, he said.

I see nothing in my neighborhood, our streets are in BAD shape, gravel under asphalt is ready to separate. With our infrastructure in need everywhere, I wonder if the newer developments are getting all the attention?

Thompson Hall Road has a need for stripping. The county did their end but the rest of the road in city limits have degraded to the point of non existent. With so much traffic it can be difficult to see the center lines with low visibility at night.
