Temperatures dropped into the teens this morning in the first hard freeze in several years, causing schools to open late and the closure of the golf course for the day.

It looks like nobody is walking five miles in the snow to school anymore. It is a whole lot colder up north and I’ll bet they’re not canceling school. There seems to be a whole lot pampering going on these days and school test scores do not reflect that is working.

The tests aren't supposed to benefit the students. They're to benefit the teachers, unions and school boards in order to create a political "club" they then can use to beat more money out of the surrounding population by saying, "Our schools are improving, just look at these test scores."

Driving on a sleet covered road is not somthing anyone should try unless you have to. North folks have salt trucks. Children are for the most part driven to school in this area. They need our protection and wisdom.
