First Fairhope Starbucks Moving Ahead

Fairhope, Alabama

Fairhope Starbucks location.

A pre-construction conference is scheduled next week for the new Starbucks coffee shop in the Eastern Shore Village Center on Greeno Road, according to planning director Simmons.

Actual construction should begin by spring or summer; the center's parking lot is to be re-configured as well, Simmons said.

Awesome. I used to have to drive miles not to patronize Starbucks. Now, I can not drink their coffee every day as I cruise by on my way to a cup of coffee from our locally-owned Refuge or Reveille or Mr. Gene's Beans or Page and Palette or Fairhope Chocolate.

All of the latter make better coffee without the condescension, at a fair price, and without the added and off-putting bitterness--both on the palette and in Leftist politics.

I can't wait for all the new out-of-state suburban soccer moms cutting all the way across 181 trying to turn left out of the plaza...

We love starbucks and welcome it here. Maybe they can show the arrogant local yocals how to run a coffee shop.

I do not care it it is corporate or local as long as service is good which often is not the case here.

City has done a good job keeping chains out of downtown, so far anyway.

"We love starbucks and welcome it here. Maybe they can show the arrogant local yocals how to run a coffee shop."

Please do explain. For example, does knowing how to spell "yokel" make one arrogant, or are we to understand that demonstrating ignorance is tantamount to signaling a species humble virtue?

The ideological barbarians are at Fairhope's gate. Support the little man. Support our way of life.
