Grand Avenue Drainage Fix Started

Fairhope, Alabama

Grand Avenue.

GRAND AVENUE AT BON SECOUR

The city council selected Sawgrass Engineering to design a replacement for the failed storm water drainage on Grand Avenue at the Bon Secour intersection in the Volanta drainage basin; exact cost and timeline to be determined.

This is another case of an aging 1970s-era underground metal pipe failure, according to city officials we talked to.

Overhead electrical lines along the gully may be buried as well, during construction.

I sure hope the city’s engineer looks here for what should be done before wasting all of the taxpayers money.

This may have been put on a back burner because of the wash out on N. Section St. last month .... but is still planned ....

Surveyors have been on-site for the past few days. Appears to be moving forward.
