I can't believe the City approved this. Where’s the designated parking? This Venue will take up 200 parking spots downtown during at an event because most weddings, etc. have that many people these days. Those cars will park on City streets every time the Venue is rented out. But, the City wouldn’t approve 20 parking spaces for the new hotel/restaurant on Fairhope Avenue?

Is this really needed? And where will people park. Won’t last.

No on-site parking is required by current city ordinances for any commercial uses in the central business district. The only exception is for larger hotels.

Most of these events will likely be on weekends and at night. Parking should be no more of an issue that it is for The Venue on Section Street and that is never a problem (except for guests when it is raining)! We need this space. It will be great for Mardi Gras balls also.

The WEEKENDS is when most local people shop downtown. Now, those parking spaces will be taken up by people at the events. The City should pass a common sense ordinance to address this. They know that Venues are designed to accommodate large numbers of people, which means many vehicles on City streets. Now there will be even more parking issues. Nice work City.
