ELECTION AUGUST 26

Councilman Jimmy Conyers has announced he will seek a third term on the city council, place 3.

 Announcement:

"After much thought, prayer, and conversation with family and friends, I would like to announce my intention to run for re-election for a third term as your representative for Fairhope City Council, Place 3. Serving the citizens and community I love these past nine years has been a tremendous honor and a privilege. I’m excited about the progress we’ve made, but there is still much work to be done.
Some of the recent projects completed or in process along with other highlights include:
Passing record $190 million combined City & Utility budgets for 2025, including more than $50 million in critical utility infrastructure upgrades & improvements
Preserving green space for generations to come with the 72 acre Phase 1 of Flying Creek Nature Preserve wrapping up and planning underway for the 36 acre Phase 2
K-1 Center renovation project
Fairhope Municipal Pier - Restore project
Streets & traffic - much needed roundabout at the flower clock, traffic signal coming to Greeno and Volanta, as well as numerous road resurfacing projects
Creation of vibrant public spaces like Arts Alley and Gaston Plaza that add to our City’s charm.
Addition of new pickleball courts at both Mike Ford tennis center and Quail Creek.
Looking ahead, I remain committed to working hard alongside the Mayor and Council, listening to our residents, and continuing to be a good steward of the resources the citizens have entrusted to us. Fairhope is so special to me and my family, and I thank you for your continued support as we build on the foundation we’ve laid, and keep moving Fairhope forward, together!"

Maybe Conyers does actually contribute to the Council...but in meetings I've attended, he's had very little (if anything) to contribute. The city deserves councilmen that want to be involved and help make the city a better place.

Jimmy Conyers seems to be a really good guy. I think he truly does what he believes is best for Fairhope, and I'm happy to see him agree to run again.

They never say anything because it all has already been decided in the back room before the meeting. Or over the phone by text during it!

Vote for councilman Jimmy!

Heck no. Clean slate. Vote ‘em out.

Somebody would actually have to run against them for that to hppen. Not likely.

There are at least two new candidates running and I believe the deadline is later in the month. It can’t be any worse with new ones than it is now.

As of now, the only Council member you can “vote out” is Corey Martin, because Josh Gammon is gunning for his Place. Andrea Faust Booth is the only candidate for Place 5, where Kevin Boone is bowing out.

Y’all got ‘til Tuesday the 24th to put up $50 and run against any one of ‘em. Any takers??!

Top complaint is over development and constant utility catch up. Missing from these present members (Any) conversation regarding.

How about a domestic cat sanctuary so that we can stop talking about the French Quarter?

Keeps missing Council meetings and doesn’t return emails of phone calls. Doing a great job.
