GRAND HOTEL POINT CLEAR

Movers and shakers from around the state and nation met this weekend in Point Clear for the Business of Council of Alabama's annual Governmental Affairs Committee meeting

Governor Kay Ivey, Senators Katie Britt and Tommy Tuberville were featured speakers this year.

For their website: "BCA is Alabama’s chamber of commerce and our purpose is to improve the business climate across the state. Not only do we host networking events and provide educational resources to help your business grow; the BCA also works behind the scenes to make real, tangible reforms.

BCA works with state and federal government on behalf of Alabama businesses to advocate for reforms in areas such as workforce training, college and career readiness, infrastructure, manufacturing regulations, healthcare costs, tax policies and labor laws."

Are the movers and shakers talking about how our current lack of infrastructure is good for business?

Two new water towers to store water that ain’t there? More pumps burning up?

Nah. There's plenty of water. Rainiest city in America. Two new wells on the way too!

Is the Senator giving us money for more hospitals, schools, roads, traffic controls, and road maintenance too? It looks like all this new development is not paying for it….

...yes lots of money from uncle sam for all that too!

A good bet DR Horton and the 68 Ventures guy were there too!

They were not there, as they had a conflict: August is their annual summer camp at the lake (you know, the one burning with fire and sulfur). That's where these kind of developers get their portion.

Why are we upset with the developers? They are simply doing what we currently allow. We continue to vote into office the same people and families that have allowed the developers and businesses to exploit ours laws.

You choose the word "exploit," which suggests that you do understand the difference between lawful and ethical. So, when a developer builds shoddy track housing with dubious Gold Fortification documentation, for example, that upsets me.
