Fancy memorial.

FRENCH QUARTER DOWNTOWN

Friends of Fancy the community cat that called a bench in the city's French Quarter commercial district home for many years have erected a small monument there.

Fancy, whose age was estimated at about 15 years, became severely ill and had to be euthanized by a local veterinarian about two months ago.

A younger, companion kitty called' Marble' still resides there nearby.

Marble still there.

This is why small towns are the best. A simple, sweet gesture of remembrance.
