Long Range Traffic Plan at courthouse.

ESMPO AND ALDOT STUDIES

Interested citizens are being asked to weigh in on current/future traffic congestion issues in the Fairhope and Eastern Shore area.

Current plans to deal with some are included in the ESMPO's new LRTP too; but most still lack adequate funding.

The Eastern Shore MPOs long range plan is available for inspection/comments at the county courthouse (and library) and online through October 17 (click) (click survey); ALDOT's survey in online only through Oct.31 (click).

The surveys ask for citizens' feedback/help identifying traffic problem spots, current and potential ones.

The big I-10 bridge is soaking up all the $'s so nothing is left for all the other projects so desperately needed!

Could use a right turn lane on southbound 98 on to Fairhope Ave. It is always backed up there.

Another right hand turn lane going north on the east side of Twin Beech Road coming from the high school to Greeno/98 north.

The plan is to placate the public by pretending they have a plan and the $.

Patlynn Drive off Gayfer is widely used as a way to get to Volanta Ave
without having to use the light at N Section. This routes traffic into a
residential area. Patlynn traffic is often higher speeds (35+) while the street is widely used by walking traffic leading to conflict, danger.

I just completed the survey...took about 10 minutes. We need as many as possible from the Fairhope area to do the survey so that maybe our voice will be heard since this is a statewide survey.

Many great suggestions out of the hundreds that are out there. This plan fulfills Federal requirements to get Federal money. It will go nowhere. We can’t even get our potholes repaired or our residential roads repaired and maintained now.

Too little too late. They'll never catch up. They'll put money and resources into projects that don't matter......and they really don't care.

Sad but true and you have to wonder what it is they care about….must be making money. No other good answer. Certainly not progress.
