Pecan Avenue Drainage Upgrade Beginning

Fairhope, Alabama

AT S. MOBILE STREET

Materials and equipment are being staged for the replacement of storm drains at the far west end of Pecan Avenue, leading out into the bay.

The new drain will replace the familiar black plastic ones and discharge farther north, to facilitate the upcoming  Magnolia Beach  replenishment/stabilization project there.

Chris Brewer Construction was project low bidder at $545K.

New storm drain design.

Will the oak trees be spared?

I’m thinking because 2 drainage pipes will be merged into one.

treees can be easily replaced. not a problem at all.

No, those trees are not easily replaced. How do you replace a 150 year old oak tree? The root system stabilizes the surrounding ground.
