EXTERIOR ENVELOPE
The year-long $6.1 million envelope restoration of the old K-1 school on Church Street (with federal grant help) should be completed by mid-September according to city engineer Johnson -- and the renovation of the first floor's interior by the BCEDA in October, to be used as a small technical-type business development incubator called HATCH -- per its 15 year lease with the city.
The public may get its first peek inside during the annual November 'Lighting of Trees' ceremony, the mayor said recently.
The city will have the basement space to use itself, but no specific use has been designated for it yet as far as we know.
