City's Indoor Pool Needs Filters

 STILL CLOSED

Recreation director White told the city council recently the indoor pool's filters failed when pumps were turned back on after a long building-maintenance project, and have to be replaced. Cost is $73K.

White: "When we turned the pumps on ... the sand filter tubes failed."

He said the filters were over 20 years old and due for replacement anyway; he hoped the pool could finally reopen by Labor Day.

The outdoor pool is open.
